For a 7-string electric guitar, the standard chords are the same as for a 6-string guitar, but with the added low B string. This means that all the standard open and barre chords can be played on a 7-string guitar, with the option to add the low B string to create a deeper and fuller sound. Additionally, players can experiment with extended and altered chords to take advantage of the extra range provided by the additional string. Overall, the 7-string electric guitar offers a wider range of chord voicings and possibilities compared to a 6-string guitar. **

It could make sense to buy a 7-string electric guitar if you are interested in playing music that requires lower tunings or extended range. The extra string allows for a wider range of notes and can be beneficial for playing certain styles of music such as metal, djent, or progressive rock. However, if you primarily play music that doesn't require the extended range, a 6-string guitar may be more practical for your needs. Ultimately, the decision to buy a 7-string electric guitar depends on your musical preferences and the style of music you want to play. **
