Folding blinds, also known as Roman shades, work by using a system of cords and rings to fold the fabric into neat, horizontal pleats when raised. The cords are threaded through rings on the back of the blind, allowing the fabric to be pulled up evenly. When the blind is lowered, the cords are released, allowing the fabric to hang flat against the window. This mechanism allows for easy adjustment of the blind to control light and privacy in a room. **
